On the south bank of the Qiantang River, a modernized theater ---- the Xiaoshan Theater, stands majestic in Xiaoshan New Area, full with the characteristics of the era.
　　Located opposite to the Administrative Center of the Party Committee and the Government of the District on Shixin Zhonglu, Xiaoshan, Hangzhou, the theater lies in the district's center of politics, economy and culture, only 16 kilometers away from the West Lake Hangzhou, 17 kilometers from Xiaoshan International Airport Hangzhou and 15 kilometers from Hangzhou Railway Station, enjoying an advantageous geographical position.
　　The theater and the plaza occupy a space of 60 mu (or 4 hectares). With a total floor area of 12,000 square meters the theater has an audience hall (including 6 boxes on both sides of the lobby) with 1361 seats, multifunctional exhibition hall, VIP interview room, meeting room and other supporting facilities for restaurant, recreation and performance; the large-sized Cultural Plaza covers an area of 30,000 square meters in front of the theater, which can accommodate 20,000 people to hold an assembly, theatrical performance and other activities. The theater and the plaza are surrounded by greenery, to the south of which a creek flows murmuring. The graceful circumstances make people feel as if they were placed in a landscape in the region south of the Yangtze River.
